About the preceptor Oluwabunmi is looking for:

Located near Des Moines, IA.

Hello everyone, my name is Oluwabunmi “Bunmi” Orogun, and I’m so grateful you’re taking a moment to read this. I just started my PMHNP journey at South College, and I’m reaching out with a hopeful heart for guidance as I work to secure my preceptors for the upcoming clinical rotations.
I’ve been a nurse for twenty years, and the majority of my work has been with individuals facing enormous physical, emotional, and social challenges. My experiences in neuro rehab, behavioral health, med-surg, and home-based psychiatric care have shaped a deep desire to serve vulnerable and underserved communities as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. This dream has been growing in me for years, and beginning this program feels like stepping into something I’ve been preparing for all my life.
Finding preceptors has already been challenging, and I know many of you understand how heavy that journey can feel. If you’re able to offer guidance, support, or even take me on for one rotation, it would truly mean the world to me. South College is ready to arrange affiliation agreements wherever needed.
Here are the rotations I’m working to secure:

💛 A Personal Note
I’m a wife and mother of four, balancing school, work, and family with a lot of prayer and determination. Becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner is not just a career goal for me—it’s a calling. Every step toward this degree represents the people I hope to one day serve more fully.
If you feel led to help, even with a referral or word of direction, I would receive it with deep gratitude. Thank you for seeing students like me, and for the way you strengthen our profession through your mentorship and generosity.
Warmly,
Oluwabunmi “Bunmi” Orogun, MSN, RN
