We are excited to announce that applications are NOW open for the Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneur Program (NPEP) - a year-long leadership and business training experience powered by Duke Health and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Application deadline is December 8, 2025.
About the Program
NPEP equips nurse practitioners with the leadership, management, and business skills to design, launch, and sustain nurse-led healthcare enterprises. The program focuses on the development of businesses that provide primary care and/or behavioral health services in resource-limited communities, helping NPs strengthen health equity and access to care where it’s needed most.
Over 12 months, fellows receive mentorship, peer learning, and executive coaching from experienced NP entrepreneurs, industry experts, and academic leaders. By the end of the program, participants will have a comprehensive, well-vetted business plan and a clear roadmap to bring their practice vision to life.

Eligibility and Key Dates
- Open to licensed and credentialed NPs specializing in primary care or behavioral health
- Virtual program activities begin January 2026, followed by an onsite retreat in late February 2026
- Application decisions announced by late December 2025.
