Hello Everyone,

The University of South Alabama College of Nursing Advanced Nursing Education Nurse Practitioner Residency program is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 residency which will begin this Fall.  The residency program in partnership with USA Health, Coastal Family Health Center, and AltaPointe is funded through Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and aims to improve Nurse Practitioner readiness to practice in primary care, behavioral health, and women’s health with a focus on underserved rural and urban communities.   

The program is open to recent graduates with a Master of Science in Nursing degree who are interested in obtaining additional training and the tools needed to provide high-quality patient care in rural and urban underserved communities.  Individuals who completed their Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specialty within the past 18 months and are committed to developing career practices in challenging community-based settings are encouraged to apply.  The residency is a full time 12-month salaried position with benefits.
