SAVE THE DATES: Important events that will impact NP practice in Alabama
Posted over 4 years ago by Rebecca Graves
The BME is proposing a rule change that affects NPs within our state. We do not have specific detail right now, but we highly encourage those of you who can to attend the Joint Committee meeting (in person or virtually) as posted below and for everyone to attend the BME meeting (virtually).
The Joint Committee will meet at the Alabama Board of Nursing on January 19, 2021 at 1800. This meeting is open to all Alabama nurses and nurse practitioners. We strongly encourage you to attend this meeting as issues affecting the ability of NPs to practice will be discussed. The more we show our support and engagement the better.
The Board of Medical Examiner (BME) meeting will be held on January 20, 2021. This meeting is proposed to be live-streamed. The thought is that at this meeting there will be a discussion of issues that affect the rules for practice for NPs. We highly encourage you and your collaborating MD to attend this meeting. Time is yet to be confirmed.
We will send out links and more information as it comes available. Please do your best to stand up for NP practice since we are concerned this could negatively impact the care we are able to provide to our patients.
