The Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama ( NPAA) has an urgent plea for all NPAA members, Nurse Practitioners Practitoners in Alabama, and supporters to please contact the Alabama Senate Health Committee members via phone and email by no later than Tuesday, February 13 and urge them to support Senate Bill 46. The bill, if passed, would authorize CRNPs and CNMs in Alabama to have signature authority for medical forms within their scope of practice. Nothing in the bill allows NPs or CNMs to practice outside their collaborative practice.
Attached to this email you will find the NPAA Call to Action as well as a list of the Alabama Health Committee members. The list of senators who serve on the Senate Health Committee contains their contact information. Regardless of whether or not the senator has verbalized his/her support for the bill, it is imperative that each of them hear from NPs. The NPs that live in the one of the four areas listed below, especially need to contact the senators listed to support SB46.
