This series of TeleECHO meetings is designed to assist ophthalmologists and retina specialists in enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of geographic atrophy (GA) diagnoses.

At the end of this session, learners can define healthy aging, describe different health promotional strategies, and differentiate between activities most meaningful for those independently living vs institutional living.

At the end of this session, learners can compare care processes and outcomes of nursing home vs assisted living, compare caregiver burden between nursing home and assisted living, and explain cost structures.

At the end of this session, learners can understand how autonomy may be restricted in institutional living, predict situations in which aging in place is most appropriate, and plan for conversations about transition to institutional living.

At the end of this session, learners can understand the benefits of person-centered care in long term care, compare different management approaches and critique a person-centered plan to improve the quality of live.

At the end of this session, learners can describe common sleep disorders affecting older adults, determine treatment options for sleep problems facing patients with dementia, and infer the benefit of sleep promotion on healthy aging.

At the end of this session, learners can give examples of environmental interventions to reduce paranoia, recommend medicines most helpful to reduce behavioral symptoms of dementia and criticize a treatment plan to optimize medication use.

At the end of this session, learners can identify environmental interventions to mitigate behavior and compare the risks and benefits of different pharmacologic management strategies (AchEi, SSRI, sedatives, anti-psychotics).

At the end of this session, learners can describe eligibility criteria for new infusion treatments, predict ARIA risk based on APOE status, and differentiate most appropriate cases for prescribing.
