Located near New Braunfels/San Antonio.
I'm currently a PNP with my PMHS working at UT Health in SA. 15 year RN experience and 4.5 as an APRN. Currently working at a foster care center of excellence. Seeking psychiatric (pedi and adult) placements for my upcoming Post-MSN PMHNP program at Texas State to help meet the needs for my patient population.
(Fall 2026) NURS 5233 PMH Diagnostics and Clinical Management for Pediatric Clients Practicum:
The requirement with preceptor(s) are a minimum of 190 hours and students must have a minimum of 150 patient encounters. Your breakdown of precepted hours should range as follows:
• 175 hours in pediatric client PMH management (to include diagnosing and prescribing) with a PMHNP or a MD-Psychiatrist
AND
• 15 hours in therapies for pediatric/adolescents with a PMHNP specifically doing therapies, a Psychologist, or LPC or LCSW
* Acceptable clinical sites include pediatric/adolescent psychiatric or mental
healthcare clinics with a focus on children. Some examples include
outpatient behavioral health clinics, inpatient care, or residential care
facilities. While it is permissible to complete hours in inpatient settings for
this course, it is required to have at least 50% of total direct care hours in
outpatient/clinic settings to fulfill course requirements.
(Fall 2026) NURS 5243 PMH Diagnostics and Clinical Management for Adult and Geriatric Clients Practicum:
The requirement with preceptor(s) are a minimum of 190 hours and students must have a
minimum of 200 patient encounters. Your breakdown of precepted hours
should range as follows:
• 175 hours in adult and geriatric client PMH management (to include diagnosing and prescribing) with a PMHNP or a MD-Psychiatrist
AND
• 15 hours in therapies for adult and geriatric clients with a PMHNP specifically doing therapies, a Psychologist, or LPC or LCSW
• Acceptable clinical sites include adult and geriatric psychiatric or mental
healthcare clinics. Some examples include outpatient behavioral health
clinics, inpatient care, or residential care facilities. While it is permissible to
complete hours in inpatient settings for this course, it is required to have at

course requirements.
(Spring 2027) NURS 5373 Psychiatric Mental Health Integrative Clinical Management Across the Lifespan Practicum:
The requirement with preceptor(s) are a minimum of 370 hours and students must have a
minimum of 400 patient encounters. Your breakdown of precepted hours
should range as follows:
• 360 hours in PMH clinical management of clients of all ages (lifespan) (to include diagnosing and prescribing) with a PMHNP or a MD-Psychiatrist
And
• 10 hours in therapies for clients of all ages with a PMHNP specifically doing therapies, a Psychologist, or LPC or LCSW
• Examples include outpatient behavioral health clinics, inpatient care, psychiatric ER based settings, or residential care facility. While it is encouraged to complete hours in inpatient settings for this course,
it is required to have at least 50% of total direct care hours in outpatient/clinic settings to fulfill course requirements.
